Link CCTV Systems’ Project Team complete successful security upgrade at Grand Arcade Shopping Centre in Cambridge.
Grand Arcade is a large shopping centre that sits in the heart of Cambridge. It’s surrounded by the historic and beautiful architecture of the world-famous University of Cambridge and features a mix of sixty premium and high street retailers including; John Lewis, Kurt Geiger and All Saints.
In March 2022, as part of the works carried out by the Link CCTV Systems Project Team, a new fibre optic network was deployed around the site, allowing the transition from analogue to IP. Four new fibre network hub locations were created, and new Cat6 cabling was installed from each new IP camera location to the nearest hub. To cover the main shopping arcade and bike parking area, twelve new IP cameras were installed, increasing protection for these heavy footfall areas.
The project was completed early and ran smoothly, giving the security team an important upgrade to the image quality and coverage of their site and the shoppers and increased level of security.
Following the completion of the security upgrade, Grand Arcade provided sparkling feedback.
“Craig and the team have been incredible, this was supposed to be a four week roll out to move across to fibre optic and to swap our cameras, it has been completed in two weeks. Outstanding service.
We have been kept up to date on all progress and standard of professionalism displayed by Craig has been exemplary. A very big thanks from the Grand Arcade team. Brilliant service as usual.”
