Project Description: Whitefriars is Canterbury’s award-winning shopping district, with over seventy of the country’s leading fashion and lifestyle retailers located in the heart of the city. A Fenwick department store heads up the extensive retail line-up, which includes Zara, H&M, and River Island, whilst the Marlowe Arcade is home to several high-end fashion brands, including Coast, Hobbs and Swarovski.
Throughout the past couple of months, the Link CCTV Systems Projects Team have completed a successful upgrade of the security systems at the shopping district. As part of the works, the Project’s Team installed over seventy new cameras, including static and multi-sensor cameras, plus multiple Avigilon workstations and a new Avigilon server. The previously outdated control room has also been refurbished as part of the project. The monitor wall now displays eight new monitors, whilst the desk has also been upgraded.
In addition, Link installed a further remote site Whitefriars – Riverside with a NVR and six PTZ cameras, to be managed by security control at Whitefriars. In the future, there are further projects scheduled to upgrade the Access Control at the shopping district, plus the installation of several cameras for Canterbury Council.
